My stock gauge ran half way at 3000 rpm and almost zero at curb idle. I was very concerned but after installing a mechanical gauge my concerns are gone.

WebJan 29, 2024 · It could be unrelated, but when my 2011 5.7 starts up it'll idle between 1,800 and 2,000 for 15-20 seconds then drop down to 1k. This really bothered me at first, but after reading about it all I could I came to the conclusion this is normal for Toyota and hopefully won't cause any problems down the road.
