WebYour current switch is wired as a 3-way. It corresponds with another switch somewhere controlling the same light(s). Or at least was, at some point in time. If the old second switch had been removed, only one of the two between the black and red wires are actually functional and the other may just be dead-ended at the light. As said you must connect the Earth Green and Yellow to the Earth terminal on the switch. For extra safe put another piece of earth wire from the terminal on switch to the terminal on the back box but this is not essential.
