Epic launcher doesnt emulate directinput devices as xinput ones, so if a game doesnt have support for such controllers you have to use 3rd party tools for it. Yes, steam is one of these 3rd party tools, but for dualshocks I recommend ds4w.

WebWell the way I got it to work eventually was like this. 1: Turn off all controller support through Steam. 2: Turn off the controller. 3: Launch the game first. 4: Turn the controller back on. This works for Dark Souls Remastered for some reason, without the buttons constantly flickering back and forth between playstation and xbox.
