TPCTV has single genomic component with a size of ~ 2.8 kb and it has been reported to infect only dicotyledonous plants in southeastern United States ( Briddon et al., 1996 ). WebThe virus disease of sugar beet known as curly leaf or curly top is spread by the leaf-hopper Circulifer tenellus. Other sucking insects which feed on sugar beet are unable to transmit this virus. On the other hand peach aphid is the vector of Sugar beet mosaic virus. The leafhopper does not transmit this virus.
