Webapproximately 80 Å was formulated starting with a (3,0) nanotube-like structure. Stone-Wales defects (1, 2, 3 or 4) were included to represent the nanothread. The structures were minimized (using a conjugate gradient algorithm, energy tolerance of 10-6) and equilibrated (1ns at 300K) prior to any mechanical characterization.
