Like most biochemical compounds, carbohydrates are built of small repeating units, or monomers, which form bonds with each other to make larger molecules, called polymers. In the case of carbohydrates, the small repeating units are known as monosaccharides. WebCarbohydrates belong a group of naturally occurring carbonyl compounds (aldehydes either ketones) that also contain several hydroxyl groups. It may also include their derivatives which produce such mixes on hydrolysis. Group are the most rich biological molecules to temperament and are also referenced to as “saccharides”.
